Art by Darryl Howard at Brick Oven on 35th Street

The current exhibition I've curated at the Brick Oven on 35th features the vibrant artwork of Darry Freeman.  The work includes a pleasing range of subjects - figures, landscapes, still lives - painted in brilliant colors (except for the lady in the black bikini) with expressive brush strokes.

Charles and Ray Eames both say these would look great on the walls your sweet pad

Georgetown Art Hop

Two of my paintings, "Cake," and, "Sets," (respectively, below) will be in this year's Georgetown Art Hop at the Georgetown Art Center and Georgetown Public Library.

The Art Hop Reception will be held on Saturday, September 30th at 2PM. It's a Progressive Reception that will start at 2PM at the Georgetown Public Library. The reception will move to the Georgetown Art Center at 3:15 PM. The Art Center will not be open until 3:15 PM. By having a progressive reception, all the guest can enjoy all the selected artworks in the Exhibit. Award Ceremony will be held at 3:45 PM at The Georgetown Art Center.

I plan to be in attendance at the reception(s), hope to see you there.  Stop in during regular hours, though, if you miss it.

Sadly, no Wonka yacht for transport between the Library and Art Center.  Was there any earthly way of knowing?

Lucy MacQueen and Madeline Irvine at Brick Oven on 35th Street

I've dubbed the current show I've curated at Brick Oven on 35th Street, "Sea and Salt."  Madeline Irvine creates her swirling, oceanic-inspired, abstract images using an evaporative process to create salt formations on colored papers.  The recent paintings of Lucy MacQueen feature (mostly) seascapes with curving, crashing, roiling waves.  Both artists' works are hung together in groupings creating dynamic interplays of forms and colors.

Stop in for a tasty meal and enjoy Lucy's and Madeline's artwork at 1608 West 35th Street.

You'll have to bring your own seashells for the full audio experience.
